It also provides information on the community's rich cultural heritage. Finally, it endeavours to help foster the community identity by including information on Oak Ridges' organizations.

The Guide is not intended to be all encompassing but it outlines basic concepts and introductions to spark interest in learning more from the resources listed.

The Guide has been produced by the Oak Ridges Friends of the Environment with the support of the Oak Ridges Lions Club and the financial assistance of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation assisted with a second printing. Significant effort has been made to ensure that all information is accurate and will stand the test of time. If we learn of any required changes, these will be posted on this web site.
